Why Choose a 12ft Trampoline?

The 12ft trampoline is the sweet spot for most American backyards — large enough to deliver a satisfying bounce and room for tricks, yet compact enough to fit comfortably in suburban yards. It's the most popular size we sell, and for good reason.

Whether you're buying your child's first "real" trampoline or upgrading from a smaller toddler model, the 12-foot diameter offers the ideal jumping surface for kids ages 6 and up, teens, and even adults. Our 12ft lineup features premium European engineering from Avyna, industry-leading performance from BERG, and great-value above-ground options from JumpYeti.

In-Ground vs. Above-Ground 12ft Trampolines

Choose Above-Ground if you want:

  • Lower upfront cost
  • Faster, DIY-friendly installation (2–4 hours)
  • The flexibility to move it later
  • A solution for rocky soil or high water tables
  • No digging or excavation

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an Inground Trampoline Worth it?

Although In-ground trampolines have a larger up front investment, the extra effort is worth it when it comes to the final pay off. There are several factors to consider when choosing between an in-ground trampoline and an above ground trampoline.

You’re setting yourself up for the long term when you invest in an underground trampoline in terms of everything from safety, to visual appearance, fun, and even several maintenance factors.

Trampoline Safety

Inground trampolines are typically safer than their above ground counterparts. Although injury is still possible, an above ground trampoline is more than 3 feet higher than an underground trampoline on average - meaning the fall from a jump can potentially be much more severe.

Not only are they safer for your family, but they are also much safer when it comes to family pets, which may not be as talented at keeping their bodies in the jumping area of the mat.

Trampoline Maintenance

There are a few areas in which underground trampolines really shine when it comes to ease of maintenance. One of these areas is that they aren’t prone to blowing over during high winds or storms. This can sometimes be a hassle although not an extremely troubling scenario unless you have items that could potentially be damaged from an instance like this.

Another great feature of the underground trampoline is that it is much easier to cover during the off season. In the winter, an above ground trampoline may need to be disassembled, and while it's also a good idea to disassemble your in-ground trampoline, fitting it with a sturdy cover will also do the trick. This makes it easier to prevent icicles or excessive rain from taking the lifespan of your trampoline down.

Visual Appeal of Trampolines

Trampolines inground are highly visually appealing. The fact that they are flat level with ground also makes them extremely inviting. All you have to do to begin jumping is walk right up on them. They immediately make any yard better simply with their presence.

To get the best experience from sale, to installation, to jumping, it’s best to always buy in ground trampoline kits and trampoline retaining walls from a reputable dealer like Trampolines.com. Take a second to read our reviews, and always reach out if you have any additional questions.
